In a response to floods in Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania will allocate EUR 12,000 in humanitarian aid to victims. The funds will be used to assist the most severely affected families and to liquidate consequences of the floods. The funds will be channelled through the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
The European Commission is also providing EUR 400,000 in humanitarian aid to help the most severely affected families. About EUR 3 million will be made available to help provide durable housing solutions following the damage. The Commission will deliver this assistance through budget support.
In response to international requests for humanitarian aid and initiatives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania allocated humanitarian assistance to Malawi, Syria, Ukraine, and Vanuatu, as well as for the fight against Ebola in 2015.
