Lithuania grants €1 million for the reconstruction of Kiev Children's Hospital

The government of the Republic of Lithuania decided to allocate €1 million for the reconstruction of the Kyiv Ochmatdyt Hospital.

The children's hospital was severely damaged by the Russian mass rocket attack on 8 July in Kyiv, Dnipro, Sloviansk, Kryvyi Rih and Kramatorsk. At least 43 people were reportedly killed, more than 100 wounded, and the cities' civil infrastructure was destroyed, residential buildings damaged.

Ukraine's largest paediatric medical centre, Okhmatdyt Hospital, performs around 7 000 complex surgeries annually, diagnoses and treats haematological diseases, treats children with cancer, and carries out bone marrow transplants. The Russian attack damaged the hospital's buildings, including the newest one, built in 2020 and equipped with modern medical equipment.
