Lithuania Pledges Contribution to UNHCR‘s 2025 Budget

On 3 December the Permanent Representative of Lithuania in Geneva Ambassador Darius Staniulis took part in the UNHCR Pledging Conference for 2025. 

In his statement Ambassador D. Staniulis noted, that the ongoing war of aggression by Russia against Ukraine further exacerbates an already dire humanitarian situation. “We continue to witness conflicts, violence, and abuses amid the increasing challenges posed by the global climate crisis and unresolved pandemic management,” said Lithuanian representative.

Ambassador D. Staniulis informed the participants of the Conference that for the purpose of implementation of the Global Refugee Forum commitments and to address the needs of UNHCR Global Appeal 2025, Lithuania’s pledges 200 thousand euros to contribute to the 2025 year’s budget of UNHCR, purposefully allocating half of this amount to the Emergency Shelter and Housing programme in Ukraine.
