Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister: ‘We must take better measures for development assistance provision’

On 1-2 February in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas attended the informal meeting of the EU’s foreign affairs ministers responsible for development and discussed development cooperation measures that could be taken to enhance the situation of Syrian refugees and their host communities in Syria’s neighbouring countries.

“In order to manage migration flows, we must take better measures for the provision of development assistance, so that Syrian refugees, who are fleeing to neighbouring countries, could work, study and have access to healthcare services there. This would help reduce the flow of refugees into the European Union,” said Krivas.
