The strategic objectives of Lithuania's development cooperation policy have been determined based on the needs of the Middle East countries (Jordan), the Programme of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and the priorities of the EU’s Policy.
Sectoral priorities of the development cooperation strategy for the Middle East in 2022‒2025:
1) strengthening administrative and institutional capacity, transferring experience in the area of public sector reforms;
2) sustainable economic development;
3) the elimination of the preconditions for illegal migration.
Aid for Jordan
Lithuania has been implementing development cooperation projects in Iraq since 2006.
In 2016, one development cooperation project is being implemented with the funds of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme for 6000 euros. The assistance was provided to war and humanitarian refugees in Jordan.
In 2013, Lithuania allocated humanitarian aid to Jordan (to refugees from Syria).
