Development Cooperation with Tunisia

The strategic objectives of Lithuania's development cooperation policy have been determined based on the needs of North African countries (Tunisia), the Programme of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and the priorities of the EU’s Policy.

Sectoral priorities of the development cooperation strategy for Africa in 2022‒2025:

1) the introduction of digital technologies to accelerate the economic and social development of the African continent;

2) the creation of jobs for young people and vocational training for women and girls;

3) the elimination of the obstacles to illegal migration.

Asistance to Tunisia

Lithuania has been implementing development cooperation projects in Tunisia since 2012.

In 2012-2013, two development cooperation projects are being implemented with the funds of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme for 6,6 thousand euros. Support was focused in the area of strengthening the capacities of democratic institutions and civil society.
