Project goal

The aim of the project is to strengthen the Ugandan authorities' preparedness to oversee the Ugandan non-banking sector and to strengthen the stability of the financial sector and consumer protection among the lowest-income Ugandans, thus contributing to a more inclusive society.

Development Cooperation with Uganda

The strategic objectives of Lithuania's development cooperation policy have been determined based on the needs of African countries (Uganda), the Programme of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and the priorities of the EU’s Policy.

Sectoral priorities of the development cooperation strategy for Africa in 2022‒2025:

1) the introduction of digital technologies to accelerate the economic and social development of the African continent;

2) the creation of jobs for young people and vocational training for women and girls;

3) the elimination of the obstacles to illegal migration.

Aid for Uganda

In 2020, one development cooperation projects are being implemented with the funds of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme for 19,9 thousand euros. Support was provided in the area of economic development (digitalization).
