Some elements in a building have to ensure stability, strength, and fire resistance, while also providing aesthetics, breathability, and noise and temperature insulation. In such cases, glue laminated timber (glulam) structures are used. Glulam structures, like all wooden products, are environmentally friendly because they lock CO2 inside. Wood is lighter than many other materials and can be easily transported long distances. Thanks to characteristics of wood, wooden buildings provide comfort in high and low temperature regions and are more resistant in seismic zones.
The company’s experience producing glulam products dates back to 1974. The production site and machinery allow for the production of straight and bent load bearing elements up to 40 meters in length and up to 2,5 meters in height. Such elements can be joint together, allowing them to cover a wide span between supports. The widest span between supports where company’s products were ever used was 80 meters. “Jūrės medis” products have also been used in construction of schools, kindergartens, bridges, supermarkets, pools, airports, sport halls, stadiums, churches, warehouses, administrative buildings, multistore parking, individual and multistore buildings, log houses, and industrial and agricultural buildings.
The aesthetic, load bearing and technical characteristics of glue laminated timber structures are the best (and sometimes the only) option in the construction of various public buildings.

The company started it’s production supply 50 years ago. Timber solutions are made from spruce and pine timber, using melamine glue.
