Statistics

Official development assistance (ODA) refers to assistance and humanitarian aid provided by state and municipal institutions and agencies to developing countries included in a list of ODA recipients drawn up by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Lithuania has pledged to devote 0.33% of its Gross National Income (GNI) to ODA by 2030 as part of its international commitment.

The priority geographical areas of Lithuania’s development cooperation are the EU Eastern Partnership countries, as well as countries of migration origin and transit. Bilateral assistance primarily goes to the EU Eastern Partnership countries-Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia- as well as to the people of Belarus.

Humanitarian aid is provided in response to received requests and published international appeals by transferring funds to the UN, OECD, OSCE, and other international organizations, agencies and funds, regional programs, and individual country programs.
