A Choice in Favor of Strengthening Civil Society and Democratic Institutions
Project goal
Strengthening civil society and democratic institutions.
Project results
- Seminar, roundtable discussions, film screening, with a special focus on the main problem of the Kartvelians - the still strong influence of Stalinism on public thinking were organised (attended by 46 politicians, journalists, lawyers, businessmen, representatives of non-governmental organisations). Guests of honour were Nick Beresford (UN), David Hoffman (USAID), Mariusz Maszkiewicz (Poland), Heidi Grau (Switzerland).
- The history of the establishment of the Republic of Guria in 1905, the problem of migration of citizens from Georgia, the importance of the transfer of Lithuanian experience for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia and for joint actions against Russian aggression were presented to the public in detail.

- Training on "Media Literacy and Skills to Combat Anti-Western Disinformation" for 25 local civil society organisations and communities, including representatives of ethnic minorities (on media literacy, fact-checking skills and strategies to combat disinformation) has been organised.
- Lithuanian experts Prof. A. Balčytienė, I. Ivanauskaitė, A. Meidutė shared European experience on strengthening information resistance and preventing disinformation threats.
- Trainer sessions organised - 10 representatives of local civil society organisations and local community developed their skills (a visit to Lithuania to present best practices organised).
- Recommendations for local communities and municipalities have been developed.

Ethnic Minority Youth for Green Activism
Project goal
To increase environmental awareness by promoting the principles of sustainable development among the youth of the four municipalities of the Kvemo Kartli region - Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Gardabani and Marneuli.

Project results
- 36 special waste sorting bins have been installed in 16 schools, colleges, community centres and local social organisations, 150 trees have been planted in 16 schools and colleges and 77 trees in 8 community centres and local organisations.
- Civic activists and representatives of local organisations planted additional 185 trees, 75 nesting boxes were made and put up, and around 110 children were involved in 20 environmental clean-up actions.
- 5 meetings with local authorities, 40 environmental assessment visits with volunteers have been organised; 10 videos have been produced.

Project goal
The project aims to create a virtual trade network by strengthening the cooperation between agricultural enterprises in the Suwalki and Georgian Racha region.
Project results
- Training in Georgia for the country's agricultural SMEs on "Common standards and quality requirements for food exports to the EU. Lithuanian good practice" was organised.
- A 4-day internship in Lithuania visiting Suvalkija region agricultural companies specialising in dairy, beekeeping, meat processing, as well as meetings with representatives of the Kaunas Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Crafts were organised.
- A virtual cooperation platform www.saklit.eu has been created (20 companies from each country), where new small businesses can register.
- A presentation of agricultural products from the Rača-Lečchumis and Kvemo Svaneti regions of Georgia was organised in Šakiai.
- A final event to present the results of the project was held at the Embassy of Georgia in Lithuania.

- Together with Nijolė Genytė Social Care Home (LT), a visit to Lithuania was organised for 6 specialists from day care centres in Georgia, followed by meetings with staff, beneficiaries and parents from day care centres in Kutaisi, Saguram, Samtredia and Terdzhola, who gained knowledge and experience from Lithuania.
- A round table discussion "A rights-based approach to social services" was organised (30 participants).

- Local civil society organisations and community representatives have gained a comprehensive understanding of the integrated waste management system and the corresponding policy changes.
- Capacities of local authorities to promote public participation in environmental decision-making were strengthened.
- A communication strategy for municipalities and civil society has been developed for the effective implementation of municipal waste management plans and for the fulfilment of the obligations of Georgia under the European Union Association Agreement.
- Public awareness of integrated waste management systems increased and participation of local communities in solving local environmental problems encouraged.

Project goal
The project aims at developing internationally recognized temperature measurement capacities at around 270C in Georgia, which is important in environment, food and health areas as well as for academia in their daily work.

- The 27C temperature point used to measure ambient temperature in the food industry, science and healthcare applications installed.
- Accurate and reliable measurements of the 27C point contribute to a sustainable environment and provide reliable information for managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Project goal

- Strategic discussions with leaders and representatives of political parties and their youth groups from Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Telavi were organised to introduce the culture of political compromise, dialogue and negotiation in the common interests of the state.
- Lectures and meetings were organised, with particular emphasis on the principles of political compromise and political culture.

Project goal
The aim of the project is to improve environmental performance in waste management and recycling in selected regions of Georgia.
Project results
- Increased capacity of municipal authorities to implement the environment-related provisions of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and existing best practices in waste management and recycling.
- The recycling models developed for Tsageri and Lentekhi municipalities have been accepted by local municipal authorities.
- The municipal staff was trained to apply the recycling model in practice.
- Public awareness on environmental issues related to waste sorting and management/recycling was increased: school teachers, pupils and youth participated in an awareness raising training campaign.

Building the capacity of civil society in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine to protect and advance the rights of women through international litigation and advocacy.
Project goal
To enhance the skills of civil society organizations in the target region to engage in international litigation and advocacy as part of a wider strategy to tackle systemic issues affecting women in their countries (e.g. sexual and gender based violence) through practical and tailored legal mentoring, legal clinics and training.

- Legal strategy developed in NG case against Georgia;
- A roundtable on self-defence in domestic violence cases was held to identify strategic litigation issues and the need for expert assistance for partner lawyers;

Civic Education Against Disinformation About EU-Integration
Project goal
To raise awareness about the Association Agreement and EU-integration among 18 Civic Education Teachers and a minimum of 720 pupils and improve their competences regarding countering disinformation and propaganda.
Project results
- 18 teachers and 1,432 pupils deepened their knowledge about EU integration, the Association Agreement, and how to expose and fight propaganda and fake news.
- 18 teachers and 36 pupils learned how to create an online campaign using videos, online newspapers, posters and videos.
- 18 schools ran online campaigns involving more than 2,250 pupils. Online newspapers, posters, infographics and videos were created.

Combating obstacles that hinder Georgia receiving benefits from Association Agreement - advocating private and governmental sectors for sustainable economic development
Project goal
Help the private sector to seize the opportunities presented by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with the European Union.
Project results
- 12 articles have been produced on clusters and the challenges they face. 7 informative videos were produced to promote the advantages that clusters experience on their way to the EU market.
- 3 recommendations were made to support cluster formation and development in furniture, agriculture, logistics and transport (recommendations on furniture and agriculture were submitted to the Prime Minister).
- A new cluster "Imeretian Vegetable Producers Cluster" was registered.
- Main problems in fisheries export and logistics discussed with representatives of the Associations. 10 articles were produced analysing the current situation, each article reaching about 1000 users.
- 3 entrepreneurs from the furniture, ICT and film clusters were trained remotely.

Project goal
To promote tourism development in Khashuri municipality through sharing best Lithuanian and Georgian practices between state, local and NGO actors engaged in development of tourism sector. Project linked twin towns Khashuri, Georgia and Radviliškis, Lithuania.

- With the help of representatives of the municipality of Radviliskis, the current situation was analysed: tourism routes and objects, the municipality's existing programmes, the region's potential, and the challenges faced by local communities.
- A strategy for the development of tourism in Chashuris is being prepared.
- A map (4000 pcs.) has been developed and printed and the strategy should serve to promote tourism activities involving the population and entrepreneurs of the municipality of Khashuri. 30 tourism information boards in Kartvelian and English have been prepared and will be placed in the Khashuri region.

The project’s overall objective is to raise the awareness of the Georgian people about the opportunities offered by the Comprehensive and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), to strengthen the capacity of civil society to lead independently public awareness campaigns on the implementation of DCFTA in Georgia.
During the project activities, financed from Lithuanian Development Cooperation funds in 2019, the project results were presented in Brussels. EU decision makers have been introduced to the DCFTA implementation in Georgia and regional development.

Project goal
Highlight the need for quality education for girls as a precondition for ensuring their future social and economic well-being. Project goal
Co-financed project “Georgia on the European Way: Creation of Effective Model for DCFTA and SME Strategy Implementation”
The project’s overall objective is to raise the awareness of the Georgian people about the opportunities offered by the Comprehensive and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), to strengthen the capacity of civil society to lead independently public awareness campaigns on the implementation of DCFTA in Georgia.
Project results
- During the project activities, financed from Lithuanian Development Cooperation funds in 2019, the project results were presented in Brussels. EU decision makers have been introduced to the DCFTA implementation in Georgia and regional development.
